Sled Contrast



You always hear about "contrasting" things in the world of strength/conditioning/speed training. For example, you wanna have evenly "matched" push muscles (like on the DB bench) and pull muscles (like in a bent row).

Well this video above is not EXACTLY that type of contrast, but it is a contrast. First the athlete is going to push the heavy load for a set distance using leg drive and power. Then the athlete will turn around and sprint back that same distance---this time with no resistance using arm action and foot action.

It's going from something heavy to something light. Try this drill and see how light you feel when jumping immediately into a sprint following this heavy "push"!
