Unilateral vs.Bilateral

Unilateral training is when both limbs work together during an exercise (such as a barbell for bent rows). Bilateral training is performing the same exercise, but letting the limbs work independently of each other (such as bent rows with dumbbells).

To increase your balance of strength, work exercises that you would normally use two limbs together, and instead work them bilaterally.

This rule can apply to several different exercises from bench pressing and military presses, to squats and pull downs.
